ذخیره انرژی الکتریکی بسیار سخت است و بالانس دائم بین تولید و مصرف بسیارحیاتی است. ژنراتورها، بارها و شبکه های الکتریکی ایکه آنها را به هم متصل می کنند دارای لختی مکانیکی و / یا الکتریکی هستند که عدم باقی ماندن بالانس تضمین کننده تثبیت نسبی ولتاژ و فرکانس شبکه را با مشکل روبرو میکند. هنگام مواجهه با تغییرات توان، سیستم الکتریکی بصورت نرمال بعد از کمی نوسان یک حالتپایدار را از سر میگیرد.
هرچند در موارد معین وضعیت نوسانی میتواند پیشرونده باشد و دراین حالت مطالعاتی جهت جلوگیری از این پدیده و تضمین پایداری شبکه الکتریکی لازم است و این مطالعات در مورد شبکه های الکتریکی ایکه شامل یک یا چند دستگاه ژنراتور و موتور است اهمیت ویژه دارد.
هدف این متن تکنیکی برای فهمیدن اینکه چرا ناپایداری میتواند ظاهر شود و از طرف دیگر برای پیدا کردن علتهای اصلی و اثرات ناپایداری است. این متن اقدامات پیشگیرانه لازم و بوجود آوردنده استحکام را توضیح میدهد و چگونگی هدایت یک مطالعه خاص را توصیف میکند.
پایداری دینامیک یکی از مبحثهای مهم و حیاتی در بهره برداری از شبکه های توزیع، فوق توزیع و انتقال می باشد که جهت توسعه و تداوم استفاده از شبکه باید همواره آنرا مد نظر داشت و بر طبق تکنولوژیهای جدید روز، عملکرد حفاظتی و پیشگیرانه آنرا بهبود بخشیم. محاسبات و طراحی یک شبکه با در نظر گرفتن پایداری دینامیک بسیار پیچیده و مشکل است که امروزه توسط کامپیوتر انجام میگیرد.
